RTÉ Marketing, Liz Ivory (Director) and Fiona Savage (Producer), asked RTÉ Motion Graphic Designers Nigel, Amy and the wider RTÉ Design creative team, to create colorful, bright, and energetic graphics for a Dancing with the Stars promo that would jump off our screens at Christmas and into the New Year. The plan was to launch on Christmas Eve 2023 to reach as large an audience as possible. Followed by Integrated campaign plan across marketing, social and comms.
The production involved a two-day shoot. Day one in RTÉ Studio 5 with a full cast of judges, professional dancers and celebrity contestants and day two, in Studio 2, with a living and bedroom set built to film the green screen scenes for post production.

RTÉ Design Viz artists Alan and Dale, built controls to update the on-screen graphics in real time from the studio floor.
A green screen image is uploaded to the TV monitor on set, to be replaced by a studio dance sequence in post-production. Alan discusses the process.
